Early this morning, an amazing group of people gathered together at the airport to head to Honduras.  They are currently traveling there ready to serve in whatever capacity God is calling them to serve in.photo (3)

From the team:  Whooo! We are finally here. After months of preparation and anticipation we are all safely in Honduras. All of our travel went very well. We were able to sleep and start to bond on the plane. Nothing says bonding like confined space!

Once we arrived we were greeted by our translators who took us to a local restaurant. We had an amazing lunch – Pollo Supremo!

Next we went to Ciudad España where we saw the church Resurrection helped build. It was a very moving experience that touched just about everyone on the team. We were able to see years worth of progress and hear what kind of impact is being made on the community.

Finally we made our way to Danli where we are staying for the week. We have a Methodist church cooking delicious meals for us. They are so warm and welcoming it’s like being at any Methodist potluck in the fellowship hall.

At our hotel we are blessed to be around other groups of missionaries for the week. I personally had the chance to exchange stories with a translator, Moses. He is with a group this week working with local pastors. We talked about American education and the education here, what I can expect to discover this week and a little about ourselves. I was very nervous and exhausted today so to sit down and find a friend in a new country was God telling me to relax.

So now I’m leaving you to go relax. Tomorrow we start working and Moses assured me it will be a life changing week. Stay tuned for another blog from one of our teammates tomorrow.
