Today we participated at York Castle High School’s opening exercises. Rev Harrisons devotional and Principal Treasure’s address offered important life lessons. The principal shared with the whole school the plans for the chicken coop/processing building and thanked COR for their financial and our team’s physical labor. We then headed out for our cultural time which included lunch and souvenir shopping in Ocho Rios. Highlights of our outing were a drive through the awesome Fern Gulley rain forest and some waterfall and beach time at Dunn’s River Falls. The ascent up the falls was exhilarating and challenging. Dinner was at Scothie’s, a popular local restaurant known for the “best jerk in Jamaica”, which was an appropriate farewell dinner to this beautiful island. As we head home tomorrow, we will remember the time with the children, relationships formed with each other and our wonderful hosts Rev. and June.
