FullSizeRender-2We began our day by going to the Mayan ruins and saw and experienced many amazing things. We learned about the Mayan culture, their rich history and their struggle to please their ancient gods. While we were there, we explored and saw ancient ruins in various stages of excavation and restoration.

We had a delicious traditional lunch of pupusas, which are corn tortillas stuffed with various meats and cheeses. We also enjoyed fresh fruit juices in various tropical flavors such as pineapple and tamarind.

In the afternoon, we went to the macaw mountain bird park where we saw many beautiful tropical birds as well as exotic flowering plants and vegetation. We spent the late afternoon shopping around downtown Copan City and visiting a local coffee and dessert shop.

We ended the day with dinner at a local restaurant that is known for their unique way of delivering food. The wait staff delivered our food and drinks while balancing them on their head. We then gathered for a fulfilling devotion focusing on who God wants us to view as our neighbor and be in relationship with. FullSizeRender-3
