Monday and Tuesday have been great days of serving in El Obraje. Unfortunately the father of the pastor in the Methodist Church passed away suddenly this past weekend which changed our plans Monday.

On Monday the English teaching team went to a pre-school in the morning instead of the elementary school since the pastor’s wife runs that school so it was shut down Monday for the funeral. They had a great time teaching the younger kids then having recess with them. The construction team sanded walls in the church to prep them for painting. Then in the afternoon bible school was held at the church then basketball was taught and played.

On Tuesday the English teaching team got to go to the elementary school and teach, to around 200 or so students over several sessions. TheHonduras construction team began to dig a ditch for an exterior wall by the church and then began painting the future computer lab. In the afternoon bible school was held as well as basketball taught to the younger students at the church, while the volleyball group got to teach around 50 kids basic volleyball skills in a nearby field with a beautiful mountain backdrop right nearby. After the workday the team got to go to a nice grocery store in Danli and buy snacks and drinks.

The team is doing well, but we ask for continued prayers for health, rest and to continue to grow in community and friendship with our new friends in Honduras!

God is good!
