In the morning we began our cultural experience day a bit later then usual, getting about an hour extra sleep. While we successfully got out on time we needed to circle back to the hotel for some forgotten items. After setting back off we arrived at the hiking trail where we walked approximately five miles. The scenery was stunning and well worth the effort it took. The two girls who hadn’t felt well day before powered through to get the most out of all of their time spent in the beautiful country. The extremely “soppy” ground as Ashlyn called it proved to add an extra challenge.

Upon finishing we had another exciting trip down the mountain where our driver, Sandra, kept us in one piece to the next location, the Pupusaria. Everyone enjoyed it immensely and we ate more then our share of food really inexpensively. Keeping on with experiencing the day we went to the Valley of the Angels where everyone did their shopping and got their souvenirs for the week. The shops closing set us back ahead of schedule, and to fill the time before dinner we stopped at the beautiful Cafe Jardin for a coffee and view of Honduras’ exceptional scenery.

Dinner proved to be a highlight of the trip for everyone, with food and good company being in droves. Despite our best efforts to finish all of the meal, we had leftovers which we gave to Moika to take to his orphanage for a treat for the kids. At dinner the younger crowd had gathered and shared a moment of love and bonding together, the kind that you would never find anywhere but somewhere as magical as this mission trip had been. It was truly a team moment all throughout dinner. The night capped off as it always had with a silly ride back to the hotel to decompress after a long day, before gathering for devotionals and our evening prayer.
