This fantastic day started with a drum circle! We each learned to play and feel the rhythms. This afternoon we walked through the Marianne Ridge township, had supper and worshiped with the congregation. Out last evening with this amazing group is a sad one, particularly for the youth. They’ve shared experiences, shared faith, and made friends.
Today we played with lion cubs, pet cheetah, and held snakes. Brai (South Africa BBQ) for supper. Our last night here. Tomorrow evening, 7 pm here/noon in KC we take off for home.
Update from Barb at 9:06 this morning: Final day touring Johannesburg and Soweto Township. Saw Desmond Tutu home, Mandela home, and Hector Pietersen Square. Bit of a history lesson. Heading to airport now! See everyone tomorrow at 9:30.
