Reflexiones de Santiago: Blog Eight:
Friday, we made a quick drive back to Tegucigalpa. This large city was founded September 29, 1578, and it has a sister city called Comayaguela. It is now time for some rest and relaxation and sightseeing. Up the mountain our fourteen passenger van climbed…. up and up. At the tip top was the most incredible statue of Jesus Christ overlooking the city called Christo del Picacho. There are a lot of Christians (many poor Christians) in Tegucigalpa. During their trials and disappointments, it must be quite a comfort for the people to look up at the likeness of Christ with open arms. “And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”, said Jesus. (Matthew 28:20)

Last night, we were treated to a beautiful meal at Las Tejitas (no alcohol, of course). It was nice to have something cold to drink… what a blessing! (I guess some of us are a little spoiled). Best of all, we celebrated the birthday of our faithful volunteer, Chelsea .
We leave for the airport in two hours.
Viajes seguros!
