This is our last and final day in this lovely land. Our trip has been amazing and a whirlwind of experiences and mind-changing events. Following breakfast, Gavin took us to another settlement to feed the children and to visit the minister in charge. This place was amazing in that it is located right next to major multi-lane highway. The conditions are similar to Mooiplaas and we were saddened by the economic poverty that affects all of the population in this community. It is jarring to see these settlement locations in such close proximity to a “normalized” neighborhood.
We left Johannesburg for Atlanta, then on to our homes in Indiana and Kansas. We were sad to leave South Africa, but so happy and blessed to have been there.
