Today was our travel day.  We left Kansas City and connected through Atlanta on our way to Port Au Prince.  We enjoyed a great fellowship while together during a long travel day.

We were met at the airport by Johnny, who will drive us for most of the week.  It was a warm greeting with a personable and genuine smile.  He shared stories about the political climate in Haiti and upcoming elections.  As we drove through town on our way to Petion-Ville we enjoyed seeing a lot of nighttime activity, however, far less than had we arrived during the day.

After arriving at the Methodist Guest House (known as EMH) in Petion-Ville we enjoyed a wonderful dinner of baked vegetables, chicken, and beans & rice.  Following dinner our host, Brulan shared very helpful information and insight for our week.

John led us in a devotional, which included the opportunity to share our own spiritual calling to join the Haiti Mission at this time.  Every story and personal motivation is unique and inspiring.
