We worshiped today at the Methodist Church of Petit Guave. It was a wonderful service, and even though it was in Creole, we were all moved and inspired.
As Sunday is not a work day in Haiti we enjoyed some nice time off. In fact, we walked to the coast (where Sarah made a new friend named Lily and they built stick houses together). We took a small boat about 40 minutes to the West and found a beautiful beach for a couple hours. A local made fried plantains and conch for us which was wonderful.
The natural beauty of Haiti stood in stark contrast to the difficult conditions in the city and reminded us of the great potential here.
After dinner Sarah led a devotion where we discussed the beauty and potential of Haiti.
