Today was a day of work that consisted of planting trees (approximately 200), moving cinder blocks that will be used for the classroom expansion and moving dirt to help level out the play area.  All of the efforts were successful thanks to the parents and children of the Becas program and the team.

The team continues to be impressed with how hard working and generous the people are.  They demonstrate love, generosity and respect to each other and to us as guests to their community.  To witness this on this magnitude is something that is not easily seen at home and it is totally refreshing to experience on this scale.

0Jul3After the work was completed, members of the team spent more time with the children and gave them temporary tattoos that were a big hit.  The kids loved them and the look their faces was priceless.

We also took a tour of the medical clinic on the property.  The clinic provides much needed medical care for the community and has a Doctor and Nurse on staff that see approximately 100-150 people a week.

After leaving Ciudad Espana, we visited the new Mission Headquarters.  What a beautiful building it is and will be once all of the construction is finished.  Below is picture with the view on top of the current floor (3rd) of the Mission Headquarters.  One more level left to build.

We finished the day with a nice dinner at the mission house, which was more subdued than normal, we were all a bit tired from the work today.  Devotion at the hotel was led by Duncan, the message was about loving God and loving your neighbor as we love ourselves.  The team discussed how we felt about working with the people of the community and how much joy the children brought to us.  We agreed that it is a blessing to work with these people and pray that good things come out of their and our efforts.
