Today is Sunday and we attended the Methodist Church at Ciudad Espana, which is located within the school where we served and taught students this week. Pastor Daniel led the worship and although the words were in Spanish we worshiped with the students and their parents as one people giving thanks and praise to God. Pastor Daniel’s message was translated and it touched our hears as he described the True Believer as the Christian who spends more of their time loving and serving others.00.2

We had lunch at the church and as a group decided to spend our last day serving at the church with the parents of the children who are sponsored through the Becas (scholarship) program, which is administered through Resurrection. We washed over 300 chairs and helped wash the walls and floors of the rooms alongside the parents and children.

When it was time to leave there were many hugs and tears as we prepared to say goodbye to the children, teens and parents we had come to know and love. The love of Christ and everyone’s willingness to be servants – both Hondurans and Kansans alike, had truly bonded our hearts together.

Our last dinner together was a celebration at El Patio Restaurant where we recognized our translators and drivers who were now also new friends in Christ. We ended the evening with a devotion on bearing fruit, which helped us reflect on all that we have accomplished and experienced this week.00.1
