After many days of travel, the team is delighted to be in Madisi, Malawi!  As we receive updates, we will update the blog.  Please continue to keep the team in your prayers!

After settling in the team met with the Youth & Young persons ministry host to discuss the youth leadership training.  We had the opportunity to bring several excellent trainers with our team who will provide wonderful expertise in areas of the foundations of Methodism, evangelism, entrepreneurship and discipleship.  The young adults who will attend the training will come from throughout Malawi, they were selected as a representative for their local congregation and circuit.

Reverend Sophirina who joined our team from Zimbabwe brought an enlightening message about the foundations of Methodism and the history of John Wesley.  She encouraged all of the youth and young adults to be proud to be a Methodist and to follow John Wesley’s Means of Grace by studying scripture, praying, fasting, taking communion, caring for the poor and visiting those in prison. Reverend Enrique from Hermitage UMC in Tennessee spent the afternoon teaching about evangelism through rope tricks and drawings.  The youth and young adults were taught the tricks and drawings and then invited in small groups to help each other improve their technique and a few shared with the whole group.  The team and the young adults have grown very close.  We have spent much time together singing, praying and learning.  The great thing is we are learning from each other!  Looking forward to spending the time with these amazing Malawian friends!
