We woke early to get a 6:00 am start for our long trek from Jeremie to Port au Prince. Over breakfast at the guest house we reflected on our last day in Bonbon, said our goodbyes to Pastor Badette and his staff, then after a send-off prayer and song, loaded the truck and started our journey, about 8-9 hours total.

We stopped again in Petit Goave to refuel ourselves and the vehicles, meeting another group from Texas just arriving at the guest house.  We also said our goodbyes to our great translator and friend, Rodney, dropping him at his next assignment near Leogane with yet another Methodist group, also from Texas, where we learned about their efforts to help countryside families purify water.

Then we said goodbye to Wes, toured Heart to Heart, and reflected on the wealth of knowledge Wes has about Haiti and  doing missions right here.  We are grateful to have had Wes as a resource and companion for the week.  After dinner and devotions at the Petionville EMH (Methodist) guest house, we went on a tap tap (haitian taxi) excursion for ice cream nearby, in a tap tap owned by one of the guest house team.
