Day three started out with a 40 minute truck ride to the bottom of the mountain through a rocky, muddy river bed.

We were greeted by the local people who live in the mountains – they hiked down to walk us back up with music! It was so touching and helpful!

We hiked up 1.2 miles and 1400 ft to the church site (no easy feat). Here we helped mix and move concrete and rocks alongside the local Haitians. Women and children were bringing water to help with the mix. It was awesome working side by side with the local people and seeing everyone in the community helping to build God’s church.

The hike back down was also difficult – but the Haitians literally held our hands and helped us every step of the way. We were grateful for God’s beauty and this wonderful day!
