9 of the 14 member team departed KC at 6am.  With a seamless series of flights, they arrived ready to experience the sights and sounds of Honduras and the 10th team member greeted them after they made it through customs and immigration.  Once the bags were loaded into the back of the pick up, the team jumped into two vehicles and headed to the Mission House.

After a quick lunch we headed to the Christ Statue in hopes the low cloud deck and sprinkles wouldn’t keep us from the amazing view.  We enjoyed seeing Tegucigalpa as we wound through the curvy and windy streets of the city, climbing higher and higher towards the National Park where the Christ Statue resides.  We reached the park, enjoyed a beautiful walk to look over the city, spent time checking out the statue, then climbed the stairs with the “Rocky” song playing in our heads.

Shortly after returning to the Mission House, while a few members were catching a 15 minute power nap to help make up from their 3am wake-up call, the June 2nd team came in from their travels from Obraje.  With this team came 3 more of our team members, bringing our team up to 13 people – we have almost all been reunited!  It was so much fun hearing what a great week they had and the joy on their faces was contagious as we shared in the experiences they had.  While we were connecting, our 14th team member arrived from Ciudad Espana where he spent the past 8 weeks serving in the school.  He will be joining us this week and returning to the US with us at the end of our week.  FINALLY, our team of 14 was gathered together under one roof!  After practicing some of our songs we will teach the kids, dinner, and devos, it’s a relatively early night as we try to catch up on sleep before heading to Ciudad tomorrow morning.  Thanks for all prayers – they are appreciated!
