Our partners in Ciudad, for years, have been asking if there might be someone that would come for a year, a semester, or even several months to work with their amazing English teacher working with the students of Juan Wesley on their English.  This year, Adam left KC with the April team, and served in Honduras until the June 8th team left.  He was cared for by Pastor Daniel and Principal Olga during his stay and was taken to some fun places in Honduras.  The teachers and students both loved having him there, and believe he was a huge help in assisting the students in progressing in their English language skills.  By the time our team arrived (6/8), both our team and the teachers were battling over whether he joined them or us for the futbol game.  Since we were already at a disadvantage (most of us have never played soccer), we argued hard that he should be on our team.  He was also a part of the “teacher skit” on the day we arrived.  To me that was a testament of their love and acceptance of his time there.

We also offered an opportunity for some of our June 8th team members to extend their stay by another week.  Pastor Daniel welcomed both Fonda and Callie into his home and they have been having a great time serving this week with Jeison (the English teacher).  In the mornings they teach, in the afternoons, they have continued painting the classrooms that our team didn’t get finished.  With that said, yesterday, Pastor Daniel took them on a visit to Comayagua (a town 45 minutes north of Ciudad which used to be the capital of Honduras).  We are thankful they have had the opportunity to extend their work and service in Ciudad!
