What a fantastic first day in South Africa! We began the day worshiping at Elim Methodist Church surrounded by friends (some old, some new!). After singing, dancing and scripture, we headed off to a cultural lunch of pap, chakalaka, sausage and brisket. We enjoyed the food and bonding time out in the sun! Next, our excellent tour guide extraordinaires, Queenie and Lawrence, showed us the town of Pretoria, which included Kruger Square, the old Supreme Court building, City Hall and the Nelson Mandela Statue in front of the union buildings. We spent the evening worshiping with Westview Methodist Church and called it an early night so that we will be well rested for our first day with the teacher tomorrow!
