Greetings from the Costa Rica team! Our official trip blogger is Phoenix, age 13, and she’ll be providing our regular updates. Day two’s report is below:

Today we started our first morning in San Isidro by driving to church. A lot of the group was concerned with how long the service was scheduled to be – almost 3 hours! – but everyone was completely astounded by how quickly it flew by. The service was filled with amazing music and passionate preaching, and we felt right at home. Although most could not understand the language, we could feel the presence of the Lord in the room. After the service, we were served an amazing lunch back at the mission center before saying goodbye to two other groups staying at the center with us. When afternoon arrived, we traveled into town to explore. We ate some delicious ice cream from a local shop while exploring the city, including a park and a gorgeous Catholic Church. Tomorrow we will start working with the community, and the whole group is eager to begin.
