Day three in Costa Rica was incredibly busy but filled with new experiences and growing friendships. Here is the update from Phoenix, 13, official trip blogger:

After breakfast this morning, we split into two groups to get to work. The first group, comprised mostly of kids, dug a hole to fill with cement for one of the school’s walkways. It was tough work, but we found ways to pass the time by talking and playing little games. The second group started on the other side of the mission center sanding and varnishing wood for childrens’ beds. They were able to have meaningful conversations with each other that will surely result in lasting friendships. Overall, everyone had a great experience not only making our own lives better, but improving the lives of the youth of San Isidro.

Later in the afternoon, we started preparations to work with children tomorrow at the church and were visited by the pastor and his family for a time of incredible prayer and to receive instructions for a vocation activity that some members of the group will be able to work on tomorrow. After they left, our devotional, which was lead by two amazing young women, completely flew by as everyone was engaged in deep, thought-provoking prayer and wisdom.
