We started the day with breakfast at 6:30 and departed for Ciudad Espana at 7:15. Once we arrived at Ciudad, we were graciously greeted by the head of the Juan Wesley school where we were treated to a tour of the school and the benefits the school provides to the students and the community. Then, we started work  installing computers, digging and mixing concrete. Our hands were not alone though as current and former students offered their time, energy and support.  Many of these are sponsored  (Juan Wesley and University) students “giving back” with their time and energy.
Lunch was served to all of us in the chapel and we all learned and danced a “Honduran line dance.” (check it out below) In the afternoon we learned about the student sponsorship program and three students were introduced to their sponsors, which was clearly meaningful for everyone. The night closed at dinner at Las Tejitas and fellowship. Tomorrow will be bittersweet as we look forward to returning home but recognize a transformational experience is coming to a close.
