Day three was all about construction and connections. During the morning our team was split into several different groups. One group ran to town to gather supplies and plan for VBS. Others worked on painting the soon-to-be playground roof, and prepped construction materials for various projects. It was tough work this morning but our team was able to work together and persevere. Our new friends looked after us throughout the morning by providing water and watermelon as a light snack. We were all very thankful for their care and thought!
This afternoon our team continued construction work projects. We dedicated time to devotional and a briefing on the Bible school agenda and how we can all share God’s love when working with the kids this week. Tonight we are spending time with the church leaders to connect, grow, pray, and follow. We will be walking side by side with them this week to help carry out God’s plan for their church.
It’s been a great day for all of us here down in Costa Rica. It feels so welcoming having our wonderful group, our new church family, and the kids at the daycare surrounding us. We are all very thankful for God’s love and are looking forward to working through Him at VBS mañana.
