Today was our arrival at the home which is the focus of our work this week.  It is in Aransas Pass, about a 30-minute drive from Sinton.  The home is occupied by an elderly, bed-ridden lady, who is the sole occupant.

Hurricane Harvey caused damage to her roof by wind and a tree falling onto her house.  The roof was repaired but much of the inside of the house was damaged by water.

Prior to our arrival, much of the drywall had been removed as well as most of the kitchen including sink, cabinets, and pantry.  Our focus today was to take this debris which was stacked in the driveway and load into a dumpster, remove all the siding from the back of the house, remove a wood deck attached to the back of the house, and in late afternoon to cover the back of the house with tar paper.

It was special to meet the homeowner who found great joy in our arrival and to hear of the work by a loving grand-daughter who is her caretaker.

As we looked back on the day, we noted with delight and prayer filled thanks the accomplishments of the day to achieve so much on our first day as a team.
