A beautiful morning with birds singing awaited us after a restful night’s sleep. After a fulfilling breakfast of eggs, beans, plantains and coffee at the Hotel Granada Cafe, we headed to El Obraje to begin our service to the community.
Upon arrival, it was determined that the necessary logistics for our arrival were not prepared. Flexibility is the name of the game in Honduras, so we loaded up and headed south to another rural village, Quisgualagua, to put smiles on the kids’ faces (and ours as well).
We sang bible songs, played musical chairs, danced, blew bubbles and miraculously some soccer games broke out. Who knew they liked soccer?
After an afternoon of joy and continuous energy, we headed back to Danli where we had a walking tour of downtown before another delicious dinner from the #1 Royals fan in Honduras, Chef Carlos.
We are blessed by the smiles we witnessed today were priceless. God is good.
