We finished up our serve trip today with a health fair up at the Juan Wesley school. The fair was an organized effort covering nutrition, hand washing, burn care, teeth brushing, general fitness, and a few general health areas that provided the community of Ciudad Espana an opportunity to learn more about general health practices in areas previously determined by Vilma (an amazing leader and nurse in Ciudad and Resurrection volunteers/staff).

The fair served 250 community residents today and will be run by the next team tomorrow afternoon, hoping to serve 100 more. It was a great day up at the school serving alongside the University sponsored students, church leaders, and even some Juan Wesley sponsored students serving the community together!

We did have one last round of soccer with the kids at the end of the day as we awaited our transportation home…..one of the few times where our schedule required some additional flexibility. It was a great hour of play time and some last goodbyes. We will certainly miss the time here and the face to face fellowship with our new friends!

Lastly we wrapped up our evening with a transition over to the next team who will pick up where we have left off with both the health fair as mentioned and then teaching more English next week along with other service projects. We pray they have as much fun as we have and that lives will continue to be enriched for God’s glory.

It has been an amazing week, and each of the team members is going home with new memories shared with our brothers and sisters here in Honduras. Their love is unconditional and is an example for us without question. We are forever grateful for their fellowship this week as well as the prayers, letters of encouragement, and the grace only God can provide.
