With conflicted hearts, we woke to our final day in Puerto Rico. We were tired and missing our families, but also feeling the sadness of missing our new families. Joey came to say goodbye and wish us safe travels. What a kind and spiritual man! We all enjoyed the meals he shared with us and the hospitality of him and his team. With a few hours before our flight to enjoy, we set off for Old San Juan. The cobblestone streets, dating back hundreds of years, laid by slaves, provided a path to immerse ourselves in the beauty and history of this beautiful city. We broke off into a few groups, experiencing the fort, the church, the shops and the ocean in our own different ways, a fitting way to end our trip. This past week we were one big group made of unique individuals. We are God’s people, “Goodbye, Puerto Rico!” Until we see you again.
